This page is the jumping of point for all the information for the person with GID. Rather then attempting to create a "one size fits all" transition path we hope by presenting as much information as possible it will empower you to make up your own mind as to what "fits" for you.

Below is a brief description of what you will find in each of the areas:

General Health: On this page you'll find an overview of what tasks you can expect your local GP to be able to perform for you.

Medical: This page contains information related to the services that should be provided by an appropriately qualified endocrinologist. It also contains details of the types of hormone treatments available as well as their positive and negative effects.

Psychological: This page contains information related to the services provided by your psychologist/councillor. What you can reasonably expect them to do to help you and what you should do in order to ensure that you get the best out of your sessions.

Surgical: This page contains information related to all of the surgical procedures that can be carried out in order to enable you to complete your transition.

Legal: This page contains legal information with regards to your rights in a divorce/separation. It also contains information on how to change your name, by deed poll. As well as a suggested list of companies and service providers that you will need to inform.

Reference: This page contains studies and the results of those studies into Gender Identity Disorder, both in Ireland and internationally.

Personal: This page covers everything you need to know about creating a presentable appearance in your chosen gender - from make-up, hair and clothes to how to size yourself correctly.
