Standards of Care (HBIGDA) Ver. 6
The Harry Benjamin International Gender Disorder Association's Standards of Care For Gender Identity Disorders are internationality recognised standard of care. The 'Standards of Care' for the hormonal and surgical gender reassignment of gender dysphoric persons were laid down some years ago by a conference of medical professionals and is widely used as a set of guidelines within the medical profession in many countries.
Access to Health Services for People with GID :
A report in to the situation for people in Ireland, with GID, with regards to access to treatment and service provision. This reported was completed by the Equality Authority. It should be noted that this document deviates from GIDI's own set policy when referring to people with GID. However, in order to maintain the integrity of this document we will not be correcting this unfortunate oversight. It is hope that at some future date the Equality Authority would update this document to reflect current trends.
