One of the most obvious things that will give you away during and perhaps after transition is your voice. For Male to Female transitions you could look like a million dollars, have the face of an angel yet the moment you open your mouth it's the voice of Barry White that comes tumbling out. Conversely for Female to Male transition learning to speak like a male can in some cases leave you looking and sounding rather like an overly effeminate man. And this may cause a few problems in its own right. Either way, not only do you have to get you presentation right but your voice as well.
Men and women use different tones, inflections, words and even body language when speaking. Where a man might use one or two words and are straight to the point woman in general will use ten. Women tend to be more descriptive with the words and body language when speaking. Learning to master these differences for your chosen gender will go a long way towards helping you to blend in to the background and being accepted as you.
As men and women speak differently we've split this section in to two separate sections - Boys and Girls. Just follow the link for your chosen gender and start learning to speak.
The links page contains a number of useful website that can assist in learning how to speak.
You should be aware, before you start, learning to speak and sound like your chosen gender will take many months of continuous practice - so don't give up it you feel that you are getting nowhere. Just take a break for a few days and then come back to it. You may find a renewed vigour and also discover that you have actually progressed far more then you thought.
