Personal

This section of the web site contains most, if not all, of the information you will need in order to successfully present as your chosen gender. At the moment given the huge amount of information needed to cover ever single aspect of successfully presenting the section is very much work-in-progress, so you wi’ll have to excuse the mess. Given that MTF and FTM transitioners have quite different requirements with regards to presentation we have divided most of the sections along Boy/Girl lines.

We hope to present an much information as possible and if you find that we may be missing something important, please drop us a line and we would be delighted to add it. Any useful tips that may be of use to any of readers would be gratefully received as well.

In this section you will find the following areas of information:

Hair Removal: Information on all of the current types of hair removal systems – the ones that work and the scams. Also, contained here, you will find a list of clinics providing those services.

Make-up: From selecting the right foundation to the right colour eye shadow to what type of brushes to uses; how to hide stubble and how to create a beard shadow. You’ll find all the information you need in this section.

Clothes: We’ve divided this section into three distinct age groups – Young, Middle Age and Old. Each of these sections are further divided by time of day and look – casual, evening and night-time (party). Along with a section on how to measure yourself correctly so you know exactly what size you are.

Hair/Wigs: How to grow it/Cut it/Style it. How to look after it properly and what style would work best for you. For those not fortunate enough to be able to grow their own hair, how to select the right wig and how to maintain it.

Voice: Explains the difference between men and woman’s voices. How to start speaking and sounding like a person of you chosen gender.

Local Support: This page contains a list of people with GID in your area. It’s divided by province. We do not give out the name or contact number of anyone who may be listed here. If you wish to be placed in contact with a person in your local area we would require that you join GIDI first. This is order to protect our members from unwarranted or unsolicited intrusion on their privacy.

Transition Guide: This page contains an outline plan of the steps we believe that you should take in order to achieve a successful transition.
